In Altar Quest, features represent furniture, objects, and structures you may find in the dungeons of Aridika. When revealing a room, a hero will draw a random feature card and place its corresponding detailed plastic miniature on the board. Many features allow heroes to interact with them in a variety of ways to draw a search card, gain additional supplies, or benefit from other effects!
For example, the "Alchemy Desk" feature card lists an Interact (1) effect, allowing a hero within 1 space of the desk to use an interact action to search it using their intellect. For each supply that hero gains during the search test, they may choose 1 character in their room to heal 1 damage. This represents finding useful potions or salves when rummaging through the desk. In addition, if a hero is within 1 space of the Alchemy Desk during the quest phase, that hero may benefit from the Activate effect by healing 1 damage.
Aside from looking great on the board, each feature provides a different effect that can change up the heroes' strategy from room to room, game to game!
Designed by Adam and Brady Sadler, Altar Quest draws upon the success of their Modular Deck System (introduced in Street Masters and Brook City) and is based in their all-original setting inspired by high fantasy and Gothic horror.
Featuring standalone quests, campaign play, and highly modular gameplay, #AltarQuest puts players in the roles of powerful heroes seeking to drive the forces of darkness away from the "altars" that corrupt the world.
Stay tuned as we near the reveal of the #Kickstarter campaign date!
